Bangladesh is confronted with an increasing flood risk, water supply and quality challenges and an increase of population and urban expansion. A coherent strategic long-term vision is needed to guide sustainable future development of the country.

As a partner in the BanDuDeltAS consortium Defacto works together with Bangladeshi experts on the formulation of the Deltaplan. During the Deltaplan formulation we will formulate an integrated long term vision based on scenario’s (forecasting). The vision will function as a guiding principle and assessment framework for different measures that will have to be taken over time (back casting).

The unique, complex situation of Bangladesh requires a solid and transparent approach, and close cooperation with stakeholders. The Deltaplan formulation process will therefore be supported by a process in which creative workshops, referred to as ‘Delta ateliers’, are applied to support the collection or assessment of existing plans and the development of new measures and strategies.

Als partner in het BanDuDeltAS-consortium werkt Defacto Stedenbouw samen met Bangladeshi experts aan de formulering van het Delta Plan. Tijdens de formulering van het Delta Plan ontwikkelen we een geïntegreerde langetermijnvisie op basis van scenario’s (forecasting). Deze visie zal dienen als richtlijn en beoordelingskader voor de verschillende maatregelen die in de loop van de tijd genomen moeten worden (backcasting).

De unieke en complexe situatie van Bangladesh vereist een robuuste en transparante benadering en nauwe samenwerking met belanghebbenden. Het formulatieproces van het Delta Plan zal daarom worden ondersteund door een proces waarin creatieve workshops, zogenaamde ‘Delta-ateliers’, worden ingezet om de verzameling of beoordeling van bestaande plannen en de ontwikkeling van nieuwe maatregelen en strategieën te ondersteunen.
